The deeper water however has attracted several species of geese to the reserve including, Greylag, Canada, Egyptian and a single Snow Goose, which has an adopted family of Canada's.
The 28th of the month brought the first frost of the Autumn, together with a Mistle thrush perched at the top of a tall Oak tree and an overwintering Chiffchaff and two Goldcrest forming a flock with Blue and Great tits, moving and feeding through the trees and bushes.
Wigeon numbers have steadily increased across the reserve with hopefully more to come in the next month or so.
