The middle part of June was very hot, on one particular day the temperature here in Hampshire rose to 34c.During the hot days, the garden birds were queuing up to drink and have a bath in the waterfall to my fish pond, including a Goldcrest one evening. This was a very rare visitor to the garden, I can only recall three other occasions over the years that I have seen one here.
Two more Swifts were seen flying together over the garden, fairly low and heading straight towards an oncoming rain cloud, but in general sightings have been few and far between.
The local Herring Gulls are still very vocal and in the last week I have seen several juveniles flying around, hopefully they were bred on the flat roofed buildings that are nearby.
Stay Safe, Keep Well.
